Developed by a team of scientists, educators, writers, and designers working closely with NASA missions, ViewSpace videos feature the latest imagery from satellites and space telescopes, and provide unique insight into our understanding of the universe.

When I joined the team at STScI one of my first projects was doing a design update to a product that had existed for many years but was undergoing major changes. That platform was Viewspace, and at the time it was a looping video exhibit catering primarily to museums, science centers, and libraries. While continuing to serve as an important resource for these institutions it now also includes a searchable video library, interactive teaching tools, as well as other learning resources which are all open to the public.

Over the past 18 years it has offered well researched quality video content, however in that time design aesthetics and technology have changed drastically. I was tasked with updating the the look of some video segments while also working with a team of scientists, writers, and educators to develop new content, formats, and templates to continue to educate this expanding audience. The hard work of the team was recognized in 2020 when Viewspace was nominated for a Webby in the Science Website category.
